n the summer of 2026, Rory and her dad travelled from Canada to Hull, East Yorkshire—the place where he was born. What began as an adventure to show a little Yorkshire Terrier where her breed came from became something much more.

Together they explored Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby and Scarborough, climbed the famous 199 Steps, travelled by train to London, discovered British scones, survived some extremely suspicious seagulls, and spent time with friends and family who had been part of Dad’s life long before Rory came along.

Along the way, Rory discovered that Yorkshire wasn't simply where she came from. It was part of Dad too.

Told largely through Rory’s eyes, Rory’s Yorkshire Adventure is a warm, gently humorous story about friendship, family, memories, belonging, coming home—and the special bond between a man and the little dog who crossed an ocean beside him.

Dad took Rory to Yorkshire to show her where she came from. Somewhere along the way, he showed her where he came from too.
