A mountain train robbery explodes into chaos when masked men led by the notorious Captain Joaquin block the tracks and seize the passengers at gunpoint, convinced the express car holds the Castleville National Bank's money. But one sharp-eyed traveler in the smoking car is no ordinary witness: Deadwood Dick, Jr. springs into action, shooting down bandits, rallying the frightened crowd, and momentarily turning terror into hope. His boldness, however, is met with cowardice, and the would-be rescuers fail him. With the robbery complete and the train left wrecked, Joaquin reveals his real prize is Dick himself. Captured, handcuffed, and marched away, Dick refuses to break, even when offered plunder, rank, and a place among the Red Rovers. Wounded but unbowed, he is taken to a hidden cabin where the outlaw leader, surrounded by wealth and guarded by a strangely domestic comfort, proposes a deadly contest of wits and will. In this fierce clash of honor, betrayal, and outlaw power, Dick must rely on courage and cunning to outface a foe who believes he already holds the advantage.
