Morgan Selwood only wants to help a friend.

Jirra has resigned from Fleet, rejected the marriage arranged by her family, and made herself the target of an assassin sent to restore their so-called honor.

Morgan refuses to leave her to face the danger alone.

Helping Jirra means slipping away without permission, borrowing Admiral Ravindra's private yacht, and trusting her own abilities to stay one step ahead of a killer.

But Morgan's idea of a simple favor rarely stays simple. By the time she returns, Ravindra is furious, Fleet politics are closing in, and Morgan will need more than a good excuse to escape the consequences.

Nothing involving Morgan Selwood is ever straightforward.
