When Joseph sneaks into the kitchen for a midnight snack, the last thing he expects is for the stove to talk back.

Perched in the shadows is Peanut, a small mouse with a big secret. His home is an entire hidden kingdom, and it is under attack from a menacing rat named Grizzle.

What begins as a chance meeting over a peanut butter sandwich becomes a rescue mission. Joseph teams up with Peanut and the fearless young warrior Hazel to save the kingdom of Chere-Terre. Along the way come narrow escapes, underground tunnels, a slingshot showdown, and an unlikely friendship that crosses every rule about what boys and mice are supposed to have in common.

Written for dreamers young and old, The Mouse in the Stove is a warm, funny adventure about courage, loyalty, friendship, and the kind of magic that shows up when you least expect it.

Usually after midnight.

Usually near the peanut butter.
