When their horse-drawn caravans need cleaning and repairs, Mike, Belinda, and Ann are disappointed that they might miss their summer holiday. But their parents have an even more exciting surprise planned: they have rented a beautiful, brightly painted houseboat called the Saucy Jane! Moored on the peaceful, winding Mayberry canal, the houseboat becomes their brand new floating home.

The children quickly trade their campfires for the gentle rocking of the canal water. From learning how to swim and fish off the deck to feeding the friendly local ducks and watching the bustling canal traffic go by, life on the water is packed with fresh adventures. Join the family as they explore the waterways, take a thrilling trip on a real working canal boat, and discover exactly why a houseboat holiday is one they will never forget!
