Swept from Kansas to the magical land of Oz by a cyclone, young Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City in search of a way home — gathering a Scarecrow who wants a brain, a Tin Woodman who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage along the way. Published in 1900, L. Frank Baum's tale became America's first great fantasy classic, inspiring generations of readers and one of the most beloved films ever made. Beneath the wonder and whimsy lies a story about the courage, heart, and intelligence we already carry within us.
