On the outskirts of Bull Ranch Hill, Montana, Gene McCabe lives with his sister Vera. From a well-to-do background and a long history of ranch ownership, the McCabes aren't a family many go against, so when Gene begins a campaign against Smith Ranch, his hatred starts to fester and spread among the small community.

Surprised by the venomous speech and actions of McCabe, some will join his cause, initially making things difficult for everyone associated with newlyweds, Abraham and Isabella. Over time, it will be enough for doubt to be cast, and relationships to be tested.
