Florence, 1502.
Fifteen‑year‑old Renée lives an ordinary life—until the day anonymous notes begin to appear, each one telling her what to do. The tasks are strange. The rewards are objects that should not exist in her century. Set against the rich backdrop of sixteenth‑century Florence, this story weaves together real historical figures and fictional characters whose lives intersect in unexpected and sometimes perilous ways. As Renée follows the path laid out for her, curiosity becomes both her guide and her greatest risk.
