The reef between them is invisible. But it holds everything.

Marcia Benjamin has spent seven years as a policy analyst in Antigua, writing reports that no one reads. When her minister assigns her to co-lead a recovery project with a Barbudan contractor, she expects a bureaucratic nuisance. She does not expect Carlton Joseph: quiet, watchful, and unwilling to trust anyone who carries a government badge.

He leaves a pink conch shell on her windshield. She throws it away. Then she picks it back up.

Between the islands lies a reef, hidden beneath the water, invisible from the surface. It is a nursery. Everything beautiful starts hidden.

Set against the real history of Antigua & Barbuda, the 1928 famine, the 1976 fishing rights dispute, the 2004 land grab, and the 2017 hurricane. Hidden Nursery - An Antigua & Barbuda Love Story is a novel about two islands and two people who must decide whether the water between them divides or connects.
