Lilly has been given parole from prison after serving five months of an 18 month sentence. She was helped by DCI Lloyd who recommended her for early release. He informs her of a special investigative unit working undercover. The senior police officer uses his clout to get her an interview which Lilly attends.

It's an uncomfortable interview involving playing the part of a prostitute, from start to finish. Even though the outcome is positive, Lilly leaves Unit 42 not quite knowing if she has a place in the undercover team. Despite being given two secret listening devices, she's worried about infiltrating a criminal gang without back-up.

Then, Lilly has to contend with Derek, the aggressive fixer for the organization who may well be responsible for a spate of recent robberies involving violence. He is angry that Lilly has kept him waiting and gives her a good seeing to before he helps start her car.

Lilly then drives to Harlow to visit her mother's house for a meeting with Ralph who put all her stuff into storage when Lilly was sent to prison. Expecting a quick visit, Ralph is after revenge and springs a huge surprise on Lilly which further complicates her already troubled existence.

Because this book contains descriptions of punishments and sexual acts, it is only suitable for mature adults over the age of 18.
