The Necrowitch

Tamatadara is a witch, and has been able to speak to the dead from a young age. Of course, everyone can speak to the dead. Tama's problem is that they speak back to her--and they never give her a moment's peace. Old or new, the dead tend towards confusion and restlessness, often blaming Tama for their fate, even though only some of them are correct in that accusation.

When Tama hears the cries of a recently murdered child, it's not a question of whether she is willing to help--only of how she can best prevent this spirit from attaching itself to her and haunting her forever. And if that means dealing with a murderer? Well. Tama is very familiar with death herself. It's a complicated relationship.

Child Sacrifices offers a stand-alone fantasy experience, a novella set in a world where a witch can be threatened as much by the dead as by the living... and by her own mind and experiences.
