Forgotten treasures … a perilous ransom … shattered hopes

She's chasing answers long buried since the war.

He's content with a steady working life. Until he's not…

Sent to Far North Queensland to research a wartime mystery, Lucia Levorico welcomes the chance to escape the tedium of her privileged life. She finds herself in the heart of outback Queensland, invited by friends to a community celebration.

Reserved and hardworking, Theo Mather is at ease with his private, low-key life. After a long shift on the job, there's nothing a quiet drink can't fix —until the night he meets Lucia. Delicate, fair-haired, with skin like silk, she's the last person he expects to meet under a star-studded outback sky, where live music drifts through the air and the beers flow freely.

The chemistry ignites with the slightest touch, their first kiss stirring something deep and undeniable—until a sudden goodbye shatters any hopes.

A worksite tragedy rocks Theo's world, while a ruthless ransom targeting Lucia's wealth will test the strength of even the closest of bonds. Their only reprieve will come from sharing the unravelling of a wartime mystery and its priceless treasure.

Unless they're willing to fight for what they have.
