On a remote island in the Java Sea, a solitary man’s quest for detachment is shattered by the arrival of desperate outlaws and a woman in need of rescue. Philosophical isolation gives way to a violent struggle for survival and a tragic, redemptive love. The narrative explores the impossibility of escaping the world's cruelty, even in the most distant reaches of the earth.
