Matt finds himself in firearms training whether he likes it or not. Special Branch feels he is too valuable to go out unarmed on investigations. While on the firing range he is called to an emergency meeting - a high ranking government politician has been quietly arrested for suspected espionage - MI5 cannot get him to cooperate no matter what methods they use. Matt is called into interview the politician in custody and discover the lies and deception that he so obviously is engaged in. This leads Matt on a world-wide thriller where those new skills start to have real meaning. The rot does not stop with one politician, but leads to uncover an insidious world of EU corruption and drive for a WW3 that is as much about ideology as it is money. Matt Murray is at the centre of intrigue once again. Matt using his expansive knowledge of criminology, forensics and psychology helps MI5 and Special Branch to find the underbelly of crime.
