The famous Shawnee hero brings his wisdom and rifle to the high altitudes of the Rockies, engaging in a new set of adventures. He acts as a guardian for his friends, using his superior woodcraft to outwit fierce local tribes and dangerous wildlife. The story contrasts the spiritual calm of the protagonist with the violent reality of the frontier. It is a testament to friendship and the noble virtues of the "Christian Indian" archetype.
