A forgotten child grows up in the shadow of a captive queen, oblivious to the royal blood coursing through her veins. As the plots to free Mary Stewart thicken, the girl's existence becomes a liability that could topple thrones. The narrative juxtaposes the glamour of the Scottish Queen with the simple virtue of her hidden offspring. It is a tragic, beautiful "what if" that explores the cost of ambition and the peace found in obscurity.
