Through a series of ornate and glittering allegories, this collection explores the moral weight of aesthetic beauty and the necessity of compassion. The stories function as sophisticated fables, where princes and giants learn the painful lessons of empathy and self-denial. The prose is as rich and layered as the pomegranates of the title, hiding deep truths within a decorative exterior. It is a hauntingly beautiful meditation on the soul’s journey toward enlightenment.
