Aloha,

Welcome back to the beautiful islands of Hawaii, where the ocean sings, the mountains stand strong, and the drumbeats echo across the land. In this book, you will join Lani once again as she discovers hula kahiko, the ancient style of hula that tells powerful stories from long ago.

Hula kahiko is strong and meaningful. It honors nature, ancestors, and the history of Hawaii. With each chant and drumbeat, dancers share stories that have been passed down for generations.

Put your bare feet on the ground, feel the rhythm in your heart, and let's begin this special journey with Lani and her wise grandmother, Tutu.

Aloha and let the drums begin!
