The First Hour by Greg McMillan is a Christian apocalyptic novel that imagines the immediate aftermath of the Rapture. In a single, chaotic hour, ordinary people across neighbourhoods, coal mines, and even aboard a cruise ship are thrust into confusion and terror as millions suddenly vanish without explanation.

Through interwoven stories of everyday individuals—mail carriers, miners, families, and ship captains—McMillan paints a vivid picture of a world turned upside down. As panic spreads and questions mount, those left behind are forced to confront what they once dismissed: Could the Bible’s prophecies have been true?

Fast-paced, thought-provoking, and emotionally charged, The First Hour explores faith, doubt, and the eternal consequences of belief in what may be a very frightening sixty minutes in human history, while finishing off with a message of hope from the author.
