Sacred Lies

In the bustling medieval city of Mainz, holiness is mostly a performance—and sin is never far behind.

When a series of bold thefts unsettles the town, an unlikely investigator steps forward: Hildegard of Bingen, nun, healer, visionary—and woman with little patience for fools. What begins as a hunt for common thieves quickly turns into something far more dangerous when Hildegard stumbles upon a brutal murder no one wants solved.

Moving through taverns, cloisters, and back alleys thick with lies, Hildegard encounters smug clerics, desperate townsfolk, and characters whose piety fades the moment money or fear enters the room. Armed with sharp intellect, unsettling insight, and a stubborn sense of justice, she follows a trail that leads straight into the rotten heart of the city.

In a world where faith is traded, truth is hidden, and silence is often safer than honesty, Hildegard must decide how much truth the Church—and she herself—can afford to reveal.

Sacred Lies is a darkly satirical medieval mystery, blending historical grit, moral ambiguity, and a detective who refuses to look away.
