The world saw six minutes of footage. They don't know the real story. When actor Jared Aslinger is coerced into a brutal sexual encounter by a New York City police officer in the depths of a subway tunnel, his first instinct is to bury it—scrub it off his skin and pretend it never happened. But when the officer's bodycam footage leaks online and goes viral, burying it is no longer an option. Faced with a scandal that could end his career, Jared turns to the only tools he has: his talent, his team, and a version of events that's close enough to the truth to be believed and far enough from it to be dangerous. What follows is a media firestorm, a multimillion-dollar lawsuit, and a performance so convincing it fools everyone—including, almost, himself. Gritty, provocative, and psychologically relentless, The Actor's Dirty Defiling is a story about what happens when the line between victim and villain disappears—and the man standing on it has to choose a side.
