What Happened to the Little Bird? is an expanded English reflection on the well-known hadith concerning Abu 'Umayr and the little bird. It explores the ethical, emotional, educational, and spiritual meanings that can be drawn from this brief encounter.

The reflections in this book distinguish between the wording of the hadith itself and contemporary applications inspired by its themes. The book is written for accessible reading and is not intended to replace specialist works of hadith commentary.
