【CRITICAL DEFINITIVE EDITION: TWO COMPLETE TRANSLATIONS】

Composed between the late 1st century and the mid-2nd century CE, «The Ascension of Isaiah» (Ascensio Isaiae) is one of the most enigmatic, profound, and visionary writings of primitive Christian literature.

While the original Greek text suffered near-total extinction following the conciliar disputes of late antiquity, the monastic scriptoria of the Kingdom of Aksum rescued and preserved this sacred masterpiece intact within the liturgical treasury of the Ge'ez language.

◆ This definitive extended edition includes:
The Analytical Reconstruction of R. H. Charles: The landmark Oxford critical edition (1900), identifying the three primitive textual strata: The Martyrdom of Isaiah, The Testament of Hezekiah, and The Vision of the Seven Heavens. Modernized into fluent, elegant contemporary English by Joel O. Perry. The Direct Translation from the Ge'ez: The continuous, unabridged canonical text (chapters 1–11) as preserved and chanted by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, rendered in monumental, solemn, and highly literary English prose. Historical-Philological Treatise: In-depth academic analysis of the Ethiopian transmission history, theological development, and cosmic angelology.
An essential edition for biblical scholars, theologians, historians, and lovers of ancient sacred literature.
