In a town where the nights still hold secrets no one dares to explain; a sound begins to be heard in the distance.

Wheels.

A cart moving along roads where no cart should exist.

At first, no one pays much attention. Some believe it is nothing more than an old legend. Others insist that someone is playing on the inhabitants' fear. But then something impossible happens: every time the sound appears, the entire world falls silent.

The dogs stop barking. The insects disappear. Electrical devices cease to make a sound. Even voices seem to vanish before they can reach anyone's ears.

And the cart never remains in the same place.

It can be heard behind a house and, seconds later, appear at the opposite end of town. It can pass in front of a window while someone watches it from miles away. It needs no oxen. It needs no driver. And it seems to be following an invisible orbit around someone who still does not understand why they have been chosen.

When the first people begin to disappear, an ancient story from Costa Rican folklore resurfaces in the inhabitants' memories.

A story about a cart that should never move on its own.

A story about a man condemned to drive it for all eternity.

A story warning that those who hear it may have only eight days before the cart comes back for them.

But this time, something is different.

The cart seems to have changed its purpose.

It is no longer looking for the greedy.

It is looking for someone.

And the closer the sound of its wheels comes, the less remains of the world the living know.

Because there comes a moment when the cart is no longer heard in the distance.

And then...

everything falls silent.
