Bill is on the loose one final time. He remains indecisive and it is external events that provoke him in first bizarre and later life changing ways. He rediscovers his home land and finds the missing link that even Italy had denied him.

The investigation he undertakes into the mysterious death of his father in the wake of the Bloodless Revolution which birthed Portugal's Republic, leads him behind the veil of popularist politics. The climax is enacted during a decisive election and the end product is not justice but something even better, fulfilment.

The father – son relationship is key to this book, as is reconciliation with your roots.
