Charlie Evans is ten years old, has an invisible friend named Nigel, and a very active imagination.

The problem is that Charlie's imagination has a habit of becoming real.

Nigel works for a mysterious Department whose job is to keep unusual things under control. Unfortunately, Charlie is not especially interested in being controlled, and Nigel is beginning to suspect that this assignment may be considerably more complicated than the paperwork suggested.

It all starts with a rainy Tuesday, a puddle in the vegetable patch, and one very simple idea:

A pirate ship.

What follows is a fast, funny adventure full of imagination, family chaos, invisible government agents, questionable decisions, and the sort of trouble that only Charlie Evans could create.

Because when Charlie imagines something, anything can happen.

And once the pirates arrive, getting them to leave may be another matter entirely.

Charlie Evans: Active Imaginator is a playful middle-grade adventure for readers who love absurd humour, big imaginations, and stories where ordinary family life can become completely extraordinary.
