In 1968, Mike Brickley left for a temporary assignment in Sumter, South Carolina, and never came home alive. Officially, his death was ruled a car accident. But for his family, nothing about the story made sense. Missing records, strange delays, conflicting evidence, and closed casket left behind questions that would haunt generations. In Shadows Over Sumter, Suzanne Haley blends family memory, investigative research, and historical mystery to explore a death that may have been far more than it seemed.
