Would you enter a city beneath the Lake that never lies?
Would you trust a world of mirrored masks?
Would you face a Queen with no face?

Elia and Fado did.

Elia has drawn a mysterious gate, a crooked tower and a silver lake. That night, the Heart Compass opens for the first time. With Fado beside her, she follows a luminous Fish into a hidden city beneath the Lake, where the people wear mirrored masks and difficult feelings are kept out of sight.

Join Elia and Fado in an illustrated fantasy about friendship, the courage to be honest with yourself, and finding a place for feelings that are not always easy to understand.

For readers ages 6–9, to explore independently or share with a grown-up. Colour illustrations and a carefully arranged page layout bring the world of the Lake to life.
