I came to the Montreal Voyageurs with a press badge and a lie: this documentary was about hockey culture. It was really about a phone call five years ago I've never stopped chasing.

Then their PR director offered me real access, if I played girlfriend to the one player guarding the answer I need most.

I didn't plan on falling for him while I was still lying to him.

We were both raised to keep secrets. Now we're keeping them from each other, under strings of lights that make it very hard to remember why.

Someone has to tell the truth first.
