Deep in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico, Xavier has learned to live alone.

Four days without seeing another human doesn't bother him. The mountains provide food, shelter, and solitude.

Then the rain comes.

Seeking refuge inside a massive cave, Xavier discovers something impossible: human remains covered in webs, strange markings on the walls, and a darkness that seems to go much deeper than the cave itself.

Then the spiders come.

And something enormous starts talking to him.

Nanci has lived in the cave for generations. She is a gigantic spider with a taste for human flesh, a collection of ancient gold artifacts, and no reason to let Xavier leave alive.

His Zippo is running out of fuel. His knife is out of reach. And Nanci is getting hungry.

Xavier knows he can't overpower her.

So he tries something else.

He offers her what she wants most: people.

If he can convince others that the cave contains enough gold to make the journey worthwhile, perhaps Nanci will let him go.

But surviving the creature may be easier than surviving the greed that follows.

Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out is a fast-paced supernatural horror story set in the Mexican mountains, blending isolation, ancient mystery, monstrous creatures, survival, and human greed into one dark encounter.

Enter the cave.

Just don't expect to come back alone.
