Killian O'Leary keeps Sylvia Pearce denied for days, his strict commands turning academic review into an exercise in prolonged edging that leaves her aching under his gaze. The age gap sharpens every moment of control, his rigid self-discipline a shield against the abandonment he fears most while she yields with quiet defiance.

The office door locks behind them, and the scattered trust documents become the excuse neither of them needs anymore. He marks a clause, sets a rule, and leaves her waiting for permission that never comes. Every day of denial tightens what he holds over her, and the risk of ruin grows. She could stop asking at any time. He tells her how many more days it will be.
