Charlotte Wycliffe maintains her public poise even as her private needs threaten to unravel everything. A blackmailing cousin stands ready to seize the Wycliffe estate the moment her liaison with another woman comes to light, leaving only Victoria Grant as an unlikely ally whose every command carries the weight of absolute authority.

As they maneuver through shadowed townhouse archives to counter the threat, Victoria's riding crop and sharp directives begin to claim more than just Charlotte's cooperation. The heiress finds herself yielding to the control she secretly craves, each order tightening the bond between ruin and desire until the line between protection and possession blurs beyond recognition.

With the archive door locked and the crop resting against bare skin, Charlotte wonders how far she will go when the woman who could destroy her is the only one she wants to obey.
