Critical reading protocol
This volume is governed by a principle of documentary non- equivalence: a preserved dimension, an ancient prescription, a modern restitution, and a reception reading are not interchange- able data. Every comparative assertion must be able to be recon- structed from its source to its verdict; if one of the links is miss- ing, the conclusion is lowered or expressly shifted to the hermeneutic register.
