The Summer We Forgot to Leave

Lila didn't plan on staying in Cape May. She only meant to catch her breath. After a painful breakup and a year that left her feeling more lost than loved, she escapes to the coast for a quick reset — a few quiet days, a little sunshine, and no expectations. But when a suitcase mix‑up leads her straight to Evan, a soft‑spoken musician hiding from his own burnout, her simple getaway becomes something beautifully complicated. Their connection sparks fast and gently — shared breakfasts, accidental adventures, late‑night porch talks, and the kind of chemistry that feels like warm tidewater pulling them closer. What begins as a temporary escape slowly becomes a place neither of them wants to leave. But vacations end. Real life waits. And choosing each other means facing the fears they both ran from. The Summer We Forgot to Leave is a tender, lightly‑spicy short romance about healing, rediscovery, and the unexpected magic of meeting someone who feels like home. Perfect for readers who love cozy seaside settings, emotional slow burns, and love stories that linger like the last glow of sunset.
