When Kevin keeps pushing his wife Judy for a threesome she does not want, she finally snaps and wishes he could understand exactly how it feels. A forgotten genie lamp hidden in the walls of their new Miami home grants the wish in the most literal way possible.

Kevin wakes up as Karla—fully female, fully aware of every memory of the man he used to be, and living a life that no longer belongs to him. In this rewritten reality she is Judy's younger sister, sharing an apartment with a construction worker named John who has no idea the woman in his bed once pressed the same demands on someone else.

As Karla navigates a body that answers only to men, the same pressure she once applied begins to close in on her. John wants to bring another woman into their bed. The more she resists, the more clearly she understands what Judy endured. One exhausted night she gives in—and discovers the true cost of a worn-down yes.

A year later the lamp wakes again. One final wish remains. Karla must decide whether to reclaim the life she lost… or use the power for someone else's happiness instead.

The Genie's Wish: What She Meant is a gender-transformation romance about empathy earned the hard way, the difference between desire and pressure, and the quiet strength of choosing the life you never planned.
