A grand opening. A dead man. And a killer hiding behind a friendly smile.

When corporate coffee chain Roast & Co. sets up shop right across the square from The Purring Kettle, Clara Whiskerton braces for a little competition — not a body on opening day. Ambitious young manager Vince Castellano collapses hours before the ribbon-cutting, and what looks like a tragic allergic reaction turns out to be something far more deliberate.

With half the town holding a grudge against the man who threatened their businesses, Clara has no shortage of suspects — a desperate baker fighting to save three generations of family history, a sharp-eyed consultant with inside knowledge of the company's secrets, and her own best friend caught in an inconvenient job offer at exactly the wrong moment.

Between managing a café full of curious cats, dodging Detective Sam Ellery's warnings to stay out of it, and chasing down a killer patient enough to plan the perfect setup, Clara has to sort truth from town gossip before Maple Hollow loses another neighbor to murder.

A Latte Trouble is Book 2 in the Maple Hollow Mysteries, a clean, cozy series full of small-town charm, a lovable tabby cat, and a murder to solve before the coffee gets cold.
