For nearly a thousand years, the Thirteen Principles of Faith have shaped Jewish belief and prayer. Composed by the medieval sage Maimonides as part of his commentary on the Mishnah, these thirteen affirmations — from the existence and unity of God to the coming of the Messiah and the resurrection of the dead — distill the essential convictions of Judaism into a single, luminous creed. This modern-English edition renders Maimonides' words in clear, inviting prose that preserves the depth and spirit of the original while making it accessible to today's readers. Whether you are new to Jewish thought or returning to a beloved text, this edition offers a faithful and welcoming encounter with one of the most influential statements of faith ever written. An introduction, glossary, and reading guide enrich the experience. Part of The Sacred Wisdom Library.
