For over a thousand years, the teachings of Junayd of Baghdad have guided seekers on the Sufi path, offering a profound and sober vision of the soul's journey toward God. This modern-English edition renders his timeless wisdom in clear, accessible language, preserving the depth and beauty of the original while inviting today's readers into its transformative embrace. Junayd speaks of the covenant made before time, the discipline of the heart, the trials of love, and the ultimate mystery of union—where the self dissolves and only the Beloved remains. His words are not mere philosophy but living signposts for anyone seeking meaning, purpose, and closeness to the Divine. Whether you are new to Sufi thought or a longtime student, this edition offers a faithful and inviting entry into a classic of spiritual literature. Part of The Sacred Wisdom Library.
