We all have opinions. But understanding begins when we stop long enough to hear someone else's story.

Through a series of deeply personal and thought-provoking stories, Dr Zakaria Amin explores migration, belonging, community, identity and the quiet realities hidden behind everyday life in Australia.

Drawing on his own journey as a migrant, together with encounters with refugees, skilled migrants, students, parents, community leaders, and everyday Australians, he reveals how small moments often uncover larger truths about fairness, opportunity, compassion, and what it truly means to belong.

Written with warmth, honesty, and thoughtful reflection, Two Cents doesn't seek to persuade or divide. It simply invites readers to pause, listen, and see Australia through another person's lived experience.

Because behind every statistic is a person.

And behind every person is a story worth understanding.
