Retirement changes your schedule. But does it have to change your sense of purpose?
For many women, retirement brings an unexpected mix of freedom, grief, relief, uncertainty, and questions that don't have easy answers. Who am I now? What am I supposed to do with all this time? Do I still matter? Where does my purpose fit in this new season?
This book is for women who are learning to see retirement not as the end of their usefulness, but as a new chapter of becoming, serving, resting, and walking closely with God.
Through Scripture-rooted reflections, honest encouragement, and prayer, J.T. Alexander explores the questions that often surface when a familiar working life comes to an end. You'll reflect on letting go of titles and professional identity, making peace with an empty calendar, grieving what you miss, learning to rest without guilt, rediscovering your voice, and finding joy in ordinary days.
You'll also explore what it means to serve God in quieter ways, love adult children without trying to control their choices, loosen your grip on the people you love, think differently about legacy, rediscover old dreams, and recognize that your wisdom, influence, and calling have not disappeared.
Most importantly, these 60 days invite you to see this season through a different lens:
You are not finished.
You are not forgotten.
You are not without purpose.
You are still growing. Still capable. Still called. And the God who was faithful through every previous chapter of your life is still with you in this one.
Whether you're newly retired, approaching retirement, or simply trying to understand what this next season means, Not Finished, Just Different offers a place to slow down, reflect, pray, and rediscover the possibility that lies ahead.
Your working years may be behind you. Your story is not.
