Fifteen-year-old Barnaby Fenmore has one job: dust the most forgotten corner of the Royal Library of Aethelgard. He is spectacularly bad at it.

When curiosity gets the better of him, Barnaby cracks open a book that shouldn't exist — and accidentally unleashes a three-hundred-year-old monster onto the world's most magical (and most flammable) library. What follows is a full-blown catastrophe involving soap-bubble prophecies, a diplomatic incident with grape jelly, and a scolding from the most terrifying archmage in the kingdom.

But Barnaby's disaster is only the first crack in a much older secret. Zalthor wasn't a monster — it was a lock. And it was only one of seven.

Teaming up with Elara, the top student who can't afford to fail, and eventually Percival, the rival who can't stand losing, Barnaby is dragged into a kingdom-spanning hunt for six more sealed entities — through thunder-silenced towers, sunken temples beneath vanishing tides, and the growing shadow of a renegade archivist convinced that forbidden knowledge belongs to whoever wants it most.

Equal parts hilarious and heartfelt, The Barnaby Chronicles: The Bandergach in Jelly is a fantasy comedy about clumsy magic, unlikely friendship, and discovering that the biggest disasters sometimes lead to the people — and the purpose — you needed most.

Perfect for readers who love fantasy adventures with heart, humor, and a healthy dose of chaos.
