The shadows were never supposed to stay.

When visitors leave the Whitmore Art Museum, something impossible remains behind.

A human shadow.

At first, Dr. Evelyn Croft believes the strange figures appearing on the gallery walls are nothing more than a technical illusion. But when the shadows begin multiplying—and each one matches a person who recently walked through the museum—she realizes the impossible has become part of the collection.

The discovery leads Evelyn to a forgotten archive left behind by Silas Vane, the museum's former benefactor and a collector obsessed with preserving what others lose. Inside his private records are hundreds of numbered silhouettes, each connected to a person who vanished without explanation.

Then the shadows begin to move.

As the museum's walls fill with silent figures, Evelyn uncovers the dark history behind a mysterious 19th-century artist, a forbidden collection of supernatural artifacts, and a secret hidden beneath the museum itself.

The shadows are not paintings.

They are not memories.

And they are not willing to remain where they were placed.

With time running out, Evelyn must discover what Silas Vane truly preserved—and why the shadows have chosen her.

Some records should stay buried. Some shadows should never return.
