Pierre Burns of Maryland has served as an officer in Napoleon's Grande Armée for a year and a half, fighting France's enemies in France, England and Austria, as well as a more personal war in the back alleys of European cities against British assassins determined to kill him.
Now, deep in enemy territory, Pierre continues his battle against his personal enemies, turning the tables on them and pursuing them across Bavaria and Austria, always one step behind them, until he meets them in the streets of Vienna. All that is but a prelude to his greatest challenge, where he will face them on the field of battle in the greatest battle of the Napoleonic Age: Austerlitz.
