It's December 1968, and a draft notice from Uncle Sam has just arrived at a California college student's door—destination: Vietnam. But before surrendering to a war he never chose, Nolan Pepperdine chooses something far less certain: the world.

With $5,000 in travelers' checks, a letter to deliver to a stranger's grandmother in Leeds, and a plan to meet his friend Duke under Big Ben, Nolan boards a flight to London alone. What follows is a raw, funny, and deeply human journey through fog-drenched English streets, Socialist soapboxes at Piccadilly Circus, coin-operated heaters in freezing Leeds hotels, and the shadowy underground networks offering young American men a way out of the war.

Running from War – Europe is a coming-of-age adventure set against one of history's most turbulent backdrops. It is a story about friendship, fear, freedom, and the choices that define a life—told with the honesty of a young man who had everything to lose and a whole world left to see.

When the world is at war, how far would you run to find yourself?
