At thirty-three, a young pharmacist's structured, scientific life shatters during a near-fatal road accident. It isn't the physical trauma that alters his world, though, but a fleeting, scarcely plausible phenomenon he witnesses in the glass during impact – a glimpse of the past, seemingly trapped within the car’s windscreen.

What begins as a curious scientific investigation into the properties of light, glass and perception spirals into a profound obsession. Driven to prove his discovery, he turns his scientific expertise inward, finally conducting reckless experiments that inflict life-altering harm upon his person.
