Soldiers Three is a lively collection of stories by Rudyard Kipling centered on the experiences of British soldiers serving in colonial India. The book follows three memorable characters—Mulvaney, Ortheris, and Learoyd—whose adventures reveal the humor, hardship, loyalty, and rough companionship of military life. Through their conversations and exploits, Kipling presents vivid scenes of barracks, campaigns, friendships, and everyday struggles. The stories combine comedy with moments of danger and reflection, creating a distinctive portrait of soldiers far from home. With energetic dialogue and strong characterization, the collection remains an important example of Kipling’s early short fiction.
