In the rugged Montana gold fields, Dave Porter and his loyal friends are drawn into a hunt for a vanished fortune buried by a catastrophic landslide. When Roger Morr learns that his mother may have inherited the lost Landslide Mine, Dave and Phil eagerly join him, turning a summer trip to Yellowstone and Lake Sargola into a dangerous western quest. As old rivals resurface, including the menacing Link Merwell, the boys' adventure becomes a race against swindlers, impostors, and hidden enemies. From Butte's mining camps to lonely mountain trails, they follow clues to Abe Blower and veteran prospector Tom Dillon, only to find deception at every turn. A fake Roger has already lured Abe away, while Blugg, Jaley, and Staver stalk the same prize. Guided by Dillon, the boys press deeper into the wilderness, where hard travel, grizzly-country stories, and suspicious shadows build the tension. Then Dave makes a thrilling discovery in the mine itself: a rich pocket of gold that may prove the claim is real. But when the ground suddenly gives way, the search turns into a desperate fight for survival. This edition has been fully restored with modern typesetting, custom cover design.
