Neal Trevana and his new bride, Alice, are spending their honeymoon on a hunting trip through the wilds of Ungava when a mysterious man named Jack Davidge appears at their camp. Davidge is a skilled wolf hunter with a tragic past, but his strange behavior and unloaded rifle raise suspicions. When Neal disappears while tracking a bear, Alice is left alone with Davidge and their guide, Jo Laboré.

As days pass without news of Neal, Alice’s worry turns to fear. The camp is looted, and a drunken man named Dave Ketter threatens Alice, only to be saved by Davidge. But Davidge’s reaction to violence suggests a hidden nature. Alice must decide whether Davidge is a friend or a foe, and whether her husband is still alive somewhere in the vast, unforgiving wilderness.

With winter approaching and resources dwindling, the search for Neal becomes a desperate race against time. Secrets from Davidge’s past emerge, and the line between man and wolf blurs in this gripping tale of survival and suspense.
