Anne’s House of Dreams follows Anne Shirley as she begins a new chapter of her life with her marriage to Gilbert Blythe. Leaving the familiar world of Avonlea behind, Anne moves with Gilbert to a beautiful seaside community, where they establish their first home together. Their little house becomes the setting for new friendships, unexpected adventures, and the joys and challenges of married life.

Among Anne’s new neighbors are the warm-hearted Captain Jim, a retired sailor with countless stories, and the mysterious and independent Miss Cornelia Bryant, whose outspoken opinions and strong sense of justice make her a memorable companion. Anne also encounters people whose lives are marked by loneliness, hardship, and long-held secrets, deepening her understanding of love and human nature.

As Anne and Gilbert settle into their new surroundings, they experience happiness alongside moments of sorrow, disappointment, and difficult change. Montgomery balances gentle humor and romantic charm with a more mature exploration of marriage, friendship, grief, and family.

With its picturesque coastal setting, memorable characters, warmth, and emotional depth, Anne’s House of Dreams is a touching continuation of Anne’s journey from imaginative girlhood into adulthood.
