“Emma, you have two options,” Sir James announced. “You may
remain in London and attempt to meet the complicated demands
your late cousin Peter specified in his will, or you may reject your
inheritance and return to your home in Boston.” Choosing the former,
Emma embarks on a journey rife with mystery, intrigue and danger,
one that takes her from a luxurious townhouse in London to the
halls of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. To fulfill her cousin’s
mandates, she seeks to locate a missing prayer book and long-lost
jewels that, 500 years before, had belonged to Mary, Queen of Scots.
While doing so, she must decipher a series of cryptic clues to explain
four recent deaths, including that of her dear cousin, all the while
putting herself in harm’s way. As she seeks answers, Emma faces
difficulties that ultimately force her to make life-changing decisions
which will define her future.
